The Biden administration said it would be shipping another round of free at-home COVID-19 tests in anticipation of a winter surge.
President Joe Biden made the announcement Thursday, saying each U.S. household may now order four tests and tweeting a link to the ordering page.
The website redirects to a USPS site, asking for basic shipping information before checking out and receiving a confirmation number.
Tests will begin shipping December 19, although no estimated delivery time was given.

During a COVID-19 media briefing Thursday, L.A. County Public Health Director, Dr. Barbara Ferrer, said increased COVID-19 numbers no longer had to result in shutdowns due to the available preventative measures, such as at-home tests, the bivalent booster and mask-wearing.
"Knowing your [COVID-19] status before you gather and or travel can make a big difference in dampening transmission and protecting those most vulnerable from severe illness should they get infected," Ferrer said Thursday. "We have the strategies, information and resources to celebrate in-person with friends and family in safe ways."
The free at-home tests are in addition to the 15,000 free COVID-19 testing sites that can be found across the country, including L.A. County.
Up to eight personally purchased at-home COVID-19 tests per month can be reimbursed by health insurances provided through an employer, the Marketplace, Medicare, or Medicaid, or personal insurance.
