A week after players from the University of Colorado Boulder had jewelry stolen from the locker rooms at the Rose Bowl, it is suspected that UCLA recruits may have been involved in the theft.

Both the Colorado vs. UCLA football game and theft occurred Oct. 28, with the Pasadena Police Department reporting that multiple pieces of jewelry, cash and headphones were taken from the lockers.

"The theft reportedly involved several pieces of jewelry and other miscellaneous personal and football items," Pasadena PD said. "At this point, the value of the loss is undetermined. Detectives will check the area for relevant security camera footage as part of the investigation and will review any existing video."

The stolen products appear to have been owned by Colorado players Derrick McLendon, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig and Jordan Domineck.

After the incident, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders called for the National College As and Rose Bowl to act on the theft.

"Our kids got robbed during the game last week," Sanders said. "I think that’s a travesty. I would expect the NCAA to do something about that. This is the Rose Bowl. They said the granddaddy of ’em all, right? I’m sure granddaddy had some money. Grandpa should have some money to give these kids."

The names of the suspected recruits were not released by law enforcement, but the items in question were returned to the team and players.
