Video: Secrets Behind Norms and Chef David Cox's Zombie Burger Scratch-Made Chili

This isn't your daddy's Norms. Adapting to changing tastes, the new dining landscape and our undying love of chili burgers, the iconic Southern Californian diner chain has launched a new virtual restaurant Zombie Burgers Co.

Operating as a delivery-only format,Zombie?Burger?kitchens are live in six different NORMS Restaurant locations including Costa Mesa, Whittier, Carson, Torrance, Riverside and Van Nuys. Guests will have access to?Zombie?Burger?through nearly all third-party delivery services including Postmates, UberEats and Door Dash.

The new menu ?includes over-the-top selections like The Screamer, choice of protein, two slices of American cheese, creamy mac-n-cheese, an onion ring and Flamin' Hot Cheetos; the Don of the Dead with choice of protein, scratch-made chili, American cheese, red onion, pickles,Zombie?sauce and fresh jalapenos; and the Hellish Habanero Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger?with bacon, habanero jalapeno cheese, batter-fried jalapeno, Sinister sauce, lettuce, tomato and red onion. Other menu items include tots, greens, mac-n-cheese and chili.

Topping off the beastly burgers is Executive Chef David Cox's scratch-made chili, which recipe he shared with L.A. Weekly in this video.

On Election Day, all 20 NORMS locations are offering buy-one-get-one entrees for those that show up with their I Voted? sticker on November 3 (dine-in only).
