MADERA COUNTY, CA (December 6, 2023) - One woman died early Sunday morning, in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 145, just north of Avenue 12.
Officers received reports of an individual lying in the roadway just after 2:00 p.m. According to law enforcement, the driver of a vehicle veered for reasons unknown, and struck the individual. The driver then failed to stop and continued traveling without rendering aid to the severely injured victim.
Emergency responders pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. Her identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification of her next of kin.
As of now, police have not released any details regarding the suspect or the suspect's vehicle. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the fatal hit-and-run on Highway 145 to promptly contact Madera County Officials.
