Albert Herrera Dies in DUI Rollover Accident on Highway 87 [Randall County, TX]

49-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Canyon

RANDALL COUNTY, TX (November 21, 2024)Albert Herrera died early Sunday morning in a rollover accident on Highway 87. Authorities arrived to the scene around 1:09 a.m., about six miles south of Canyon on November 10th. According to investigators, Herrera was driving a Ford F-250 southbound on the freeway when he veered into the center median. In an attempt to correct, the truck slid sideways and overturned. During the crash, Herrera was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway. Reports indicate he was not wearing a seat belt at the time. Emergency responders transported 49-year-old Herrera, a resident of Happy, to Northwest Texas Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Preliminary findings suggest that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Authorities are continuing to investigate the DUI rollover accident on US-87 and will provide additional updates as they become available.
