20-Year-Old Female Passenger Dies in Three-Car Accident on Thomas Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 6, 2023) - Tuesday, October 3rd, a 3-vehicle collision took the life of Bibiana Mendoza on 69th Avenue.

Around 6:15 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to the scene near Thomas Road. According to initial reports, Mendoza was a passenger in an eastbound vehicle that collided with another car making a turn. A third vehicle also struck the one Mendoza was in, leading to a rollover.

Shortly after, 20-year-old Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Additionally, paramedics transported all three drivers involved to a nearby hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries.

During preliminary investigations, authorities did not find evidence to suggest that impairment played a role in the accident.

Emergency crews temporarily closed off the surrounding area to facilitate cleanup and initial procedures. Further details will be provided as they become available.
