Carlie Whitlatch Dead, Jason McQueary Arrested after DUI Accident on Seminole Drive [Banning, CA]

23-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Rear-End Crash near Apache Trail

BANNING, CA (November 6, 2024) Carlie Whitlatch died Thursday night, and Jason McQueary was arrested after a DUI crash on Seminole Drive.

Police officers attempted to pull over a suspected drunk driver around 9:30 p.m., near Apache Trail. The driver of a Ford Mustang convertible reportedly failed to comply with police and sped away. The Mustang then crashed into the back of a Nissan Versa that was stopped at a stop sign.

The force of the collision pushed both vehicles westward into a nearby business, sparking a fire. Firefighters arrived and pronounced the Nissan driver, identified as 23-year-old Whitlatch, dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported the Mustang driver, identified as 48-year-old McQueary, to a hospital with minor injuries. Following his release, McQueary was arrested and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.

Reports indicate McQueary posted bail the next day and is scheduled to appear in court on January 2nd. Additional details will be provided as the investigation continues.
