Musical creative, Cool Boy Bobby, is a rising producer. As a result of a varied childhood, he grew up playing various instruments and is skilled as a pianist. With a diverse array of concepts that echo inspirations of pop, and dance, Bobby’s music is equal parts energetic and raw.
Talent, not fame, is what drives Cool Boy Bobby. The Nashville-born hip-hop producer with the ubiquitous face mask never holds back on his views regarding bigwigs in the music industry. And before this sounds a little bit too ironic for a guy who prides himself on making music his life, one needs to carefully differentiate between making it big in the world of music and getting more people to embrace real talent.
"There's gotta be a difference between the satisfaction from making it to the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the airwaves of your local radio station. Can't exactly compare apples and oranges for sure, but the thing that keeps me going is my passion for getting raw, unadulterated talent more appreciated. Successful releases these days are backed by cashflow from industry bigwigs, while those whose talents are of the equal or even greater measure who got none of that support rarely get to make a dent."
This isn't to say that Cool Boy Bobby doesn't want to be noticed, if the face mask he often uses to conceal his identity is anything to go by. He prefers the attention he gets to be aimed more towards his music than at himself – consistent with his aversion to fame and desire to focus more on talent. With that, he's no stranger to the deeply unsettling reality of making it big in the music industry, wherein record label CEOs measure talent in terms of how much money they can rake in.
"It's deeply unfair, to say the least, that money has become the end-all and be-all of the [music] industry, so much so that the so-called 'movers and shakers' have since milked so much out of the talents of those who make it big. So, even the most supremely talented individuals have ended up becoming sellouts themselves, churning out hit after hit with just the money in mind and with none of the soulful character of their earlier releases."
Success, in this sense, isn't defined as shallowly as the moneymakers in the music industry do, but by those who dare rise above their own circumstances by putting all their faith in their capabilities as talented individuals. It's precisely through this thinking that Cool Boy Bobby got his much-needed push to launch his You Are Powerful campaign, which focuses on harnessing individual strengths to transform lives and enable others to reach extraordinary heights. Through this, he hopes to see more young people make it through life completely satisfied with fulfilling their own notion of success, completely eschewing money as the only standard.
Bobby has gone on to collaborate with various artists across the south. During the summer of 2022, Cool Boy Bobby released a slew of hard-hitting singles, his song “SWISHH” features Pastor Troy reached #177 on the Hip-Hop/Rap Singles genre which turned the media’s attention onto him. Bobby’s discography is available on iTunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud. His latest drop is the free promo single “Chasing Millions” featuring Quavo of the Migos which was released on January 5, 2023.
