16-Year-Old Girl Arrested, 47-Year-Old Woman Dead after Fatal DUI Accident near Park Avenue

ASH FORK, AZ (August 13, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Erica Miller was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 4th Street and Park Avenue.

First responders arrived to the scene around 3:00 a.m.

Investigators report that a woman was found on the road, apparently struck by a vehicle.

Due to the severity of her injuries, medics pronounced 47-year-old Miller dead at the scene. The driver fled without providing aid or notifying the authorities.

According to reports, YCSO received a call from a woman stating that her 16-year-old daughter had just been involved in an accident.

Authorities responded to the home, where they discovered a vehicle with significant damage and made contact with the teen driver and her passenger.

Investigators determined that the teen was driving the vehicle involved in the incident and was impaired at the time. She was arrested on charges including negligent homicide, manslaughter, aggravated assault, excessive speed, endangerment, leaving the scene, and underage DUI.

No further information has been released at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
