FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (December 17, 2024) – Hong Ngoc Nguyen was fatally struck by Timothy Bradford Cole Monday night, in a pursuit collision on Ellis Avenue.
Police responded to reports at the 18000 block of Arches Court, near Adobe River Avenue. According to authorities, a man ignited a bush, leading to a fire that spread to nearby homes.
Around 10:00 p.m., officers spotted the suspect entering an unoccupied white Dodge Ram and fleeing the area. A police pursuit ensued, ending when the suspect crashed into a white BMW X3 at the intersection of Ellis Avenue and Magnolia Street.
Paramedics transported three occupants of the BMW to a local trauma center with serious injuries. Despite their efforts, a female passenger in the BMW, identified as 25-year-old Vietnamese tourist Hong Ngoc Nguyen, succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, 43-year-old Timothy Bradford Cole of Huntington Beach, was taken to a trauma center in Long Beach for treatment. He now faces multiple charges from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, including one count of murder.
