Leanna Salazar and Son Killed in Rollover Accident on Highway 84 [Lubbock, TX]

33-Year-Old Woman and 2-Year-Old Child Killed in Fatal Crash near County Road 3100

LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (July 8, 2024)Leanna Salazar and her 2-year-old child died late Tuesday afternoon, in a rollover crash on Highway 84.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m., near County Road 3100 on June 25th.

According to reports, Salazar was driving east when she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons.

In an attempt to regain control, Salazar overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn in the westbound lanes. Investigators noted that the occupants were not wearing seat belts.

Due to the severity of the injuries, 33-year-old Salazar and her 2-year-old son, Zaydrian, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported two other passengers to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
