PHOENIX, AZ (January 28, 2025) – One man died early Sunday morning, in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on 41st Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
Dispatchers received calls at approximately 3:30 a.m., on January 19th.
Authorities are investigating an incident where a vehicle struck a male pedestrian in the area. Initial findings suggest the man was lying on Thunderbird Road when an eastbound vehicle hit him.
Paramedics arrived at the scene but, due to the severity of the injuries, pronounced the victim deceased. Officers reported that the driver initially stopped but fled shortly afterward.
Thunderbird Road between 40th Drive and 39th Avenue was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and police continue their search for the suspect.
