Two Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident near Northeast 160th Street

BOTHELL, WA (October 6, 2023) - Saturday morning, a man and a woman lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision on Interstate 405.

On September 16th, police rushed to the scene on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Northeast 160th Street. The incident, which is currently under investigation, occurred when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction, heading north on the southbound lanes, collided head-on with another car.

Both drivers, a 48-year-old woman from Renton and a 32-year-old man from Bellevue, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Additionally, paramedics swiftly transported a 30-year-old female passenger from the southbound vehicle to Harborview Medical Center for further medical care.

Authorities had to close the southbound lanes for several hours, before reopening them at 7:40 a.m. An active investigation is still ongoing to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
