National Cupcake Day: Like We Needed A Reason

If you needed another excuse to eat cupcakes for breakfast, you've got one today. It's National Cupcake Day. Why? Why not. If there's a secret rationale behind these things, it's still secret. There were reports of National Cupcake Day being celebrated in August and October, so whatever. Since the cupcake trend shows no signs of ever going away, there are plenty of places to get your sanctioned fix today. (At the website for the global empire that is Sprinkles–7 locations, coming soon to 16 more–you can vote for where they expand next. Like down the street.)

And if you want to feel a little better about yourself after all that buttercream frosting, you can head over to SusieCakes (which has 4 locations now, in Brentwood, Calabasas, Newport Beach and Manhattan Beach), where they'll present you with a free cupcake in exchange for an unwrapped toy for their holiday toy drive.
