One Dead following Pedestrian Collision on Main Avenue [Orangevale, CA]

Pedestrian Crash near Main Street Kills 40-Year-Old Pedestrian

ORANGEVALE, CA (October 5, 2023) - Saturday evening, a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Main Avenue in Orangevale took one person's life.

The fatal collision happened around 7:30 p.m. along Main Avenue and Main Street, just south of Greenback Lane.

According to California Highway Patrol, a vehicle traveling southbound at about 25 mph hit a person attempting to cross Main Avenue.

Unfortunately, the 40-year-old unidentified pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver, identified to be a 60-year-old male driver, stayed and cooperated with the authorities.

Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident. In addition, officials claimed there were no crosswalks in the area, and the roadway was dark at the time of the incident.

Moreover, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
