One Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash at Alta Arden Expressway [Arden-Arcade, CA]

Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Howe Avenue Left Child Injured


ARDEN-ARCADE, CA (October 5, 2023) - Early Tuesday evening, a pedestrian crash on Alta Arden Expressway left a girl seriously injured.
The pedestrian vs. vehicle collision happened around 5:30 p.m. in the Alta Arden Expressway and Howe Avenue crosswalk in Arden Arcade, per initial reports.
According to the police, a vehicle going northbound on Howe made a right turn while pedestrians were crossing the road.
Subsequently, the driver hit a child, believed to be under the age of 10, walking with her mother.
Responding medical personnel transported the child to an area hospital where she remained in critical condition. The mother of the child was uninjured.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old female driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
