For some, this weekend was only about one thing: the Super Bowl. For others, it was about live music on the Metro with the Killsonic Marching Gang, ninjas and contortionists on the streets of Chinatown for the Golden Dragon Parade, and Edward Gorey-inspired, turn of the century decadence until dawn at the Edwardian Ball. The Edwardian Ball at the Tower Theater
The Edwardian Ball made its L.A. debut on Saturday night downtown at the Tower Theater. Described as “an elegant, turn of the century celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus arts, DJs, ballroom dance, fashion, technology, and of course, the art and stories of Edward Gorey,” the ball was hosted by Cirque Berzerk and featured Helios Jive, DJ Xian, Jill Tracy, Miz Margo and performances by members of

Golden Dragon Parade in Chinatown
Saturday marked the annual Golden Dragon Parade and celebration in Chinatown. Thousands of Angelenos lined Broadway to check out the floats, ninjas, contortionists and other performers, as well as feast on traditional Chinese cuisine. Click the photograph for Drew Tewksbury's slideshow.
