Stinking Lizaveta Bring Anthems and Phantoms: What does that name mean? One day, we'll have to ask them. For now, we can content ourselves with the technically dazzling and proggy metal that Philadelphia band Stinking Lizaveta offer to the world.
They're performing at the Knitting Factory NOHO on Friday, on a bill with the equally bizarrely named Telekinetic Yeti, and Somnuri and their ninth full length album, Anthems and Phantoms, is out now. Meanwhile, they released a video for the song "Shock" in June.
"The audio and video are from a live performance, put together by Peter Wilder, featuring his brilliance. said guitarist Yanni in a statement. "The riff was written by our bass player Alexi, it sounds like two electrodes being placed on either side of your head!"
Of this tour, Yanni added, "We’re so excited to hit the road! The band is a fine tuned machine now. We can’t wait to rock with all the people that we haven’t seen in so long, maybe we’ve never met you, we’re ready to rock you too!
Nice!
Stinking Lizaveta Bring Anthems and Phantoms: The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21 at the Knitting Factory.
