Three-Vehicle Collision near Rayuville Lane Left One Student Injured

SANTA MARIA, CA (October 5, 2023) - Thursday morning, a student was sent to a hospital after a school bus accident on Mohoney Road.

According to CHPM, a sedan collided with another car turning left onto Betterravia Road. The impact of the crash caused the turning car to hit a school bus occupied by at least eight students.

The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District said the bus was transporting the students from Tanglewood to Santa Maria High School.

Responding medical responders transported one student to a hospital for treatment of a minor shoulder injury. Meanwhile, another SMJUHSD bus picked up the uninjured students and took them to school.

No further details regarding the Mohoney Road school bus crash have been released to the public. Santa Maria Officials will provide more information once available.
