POMONA, CA (October 5, 2023) – A mother was killed and her two young children were hospitalized early Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash on 10 Freeway.
CHP received reports of the collision around 12:30 a.m. along the westbound 10, just east of Fairplex Drive.
According to the investigators, a Kia Forte and a semi-truck collided, causing the Kia to overturn on its roof.
An oncoming Toyota Camry failed to stop on time and collided with the passenger side of the Kia.
Unfortunately, the first responders declared the female driver of the Kia dead at the scene. At the same time, paramedics transported her 6-year-old son to Children’s Hospital of Orange County for treatment of major injuries
Moreover, her 7-year-old daughter, who was seen walking across the freeway after the crash, was sent to Pomona Valley Hospital for minor injuries.
Additionally, the 60-year-old La Puente man driving the Camry sustained minor injuries but did not seek medical treatment.
Multiple lanes were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
