Woman Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Ashlan Avenue [Fresno, CA]

19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Valentine Avenue

FRESNO, CA (October 5, 2023) - Late Tuesday night, a hit-and-run incident on Ashlan Avenue claimed the life of one female pedestrian.

This fatal event occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Ashlan and Valentine Avenue in northwest Fresno. According to preliminary accounts, two women were walking along the western sidewalk when they decided to cross the street.

Before they could make it to the center median, a dark-colored vehicle struck one of the women, causing fatal injuries. The driver did not stop after the collision and left the scene. Responding emergency personnel arrived and declared the female victim deceased at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed to the public at this time.

Authorities are still in the process of collecting potential surveillance footage and seeking witnesses who were present at the scene.
