Here’s the thing: Not everyone can achieve success in real estate. Of course, being successful at what we do is what we all strive for, but the reality is that it’s not the outcome that everyone will achieve. Just because a former boss, an old friend, the boy next door or your best buddy achieves it, it doesn’t mean that you will. Everyone’s journey is different and sometimes what worked for one person may not exactly work for you. The truth is that it can be pretty challenging and tricky to navigate this industry especially if you are just starting out. But on the brighter side, it’s also possible to win and earn big if you play your cards right, have the right attitude, know the right people and resources.
Successful people think, act, and respond differently
There’s no denying that success looks different for everyone. Tahiti born and now Maui girl Tereva is surely proof that real estate success is possible. But what’s inspiring about her journey is that she started it buried in debt, $150k to be exact. For some, having debt is like the end of the world. But for those who are strong, courageous, and determined like her, nothing is impossible! She is a mom, dance teacher, business owner and out of state real estate investor leader who was able to move forward in life and pay off her 150k debt in less than two years. Impressive, right?
Tereva is now living the life of her dreams with purpose, doing what she loves, working full time in the industry that changed her life, and providing for her family. This wouldn’t have been possible had she given up early on and let the weight of her debt control her life.
Life is what you make it
Being faced with multiple challenges is something no one looks forward to, but it can actually lead to positive outcomes and growth. In hindsight, these very challenges are actually when one learns life's most important and greatest lessons.
In Tereva’s case, it was her poor financial situation that made her want to turn her life around for the better and get out of debt. Her mental fortitude and resilience in the midst of financial hardships are surely remarkable and impressive. She’s not a quitter but a doer, and a fighter, and someone who will face challenges head on and use her failures as learning experiences to overcome barriers and ultimately reach her life goals.
